Materials might be considered to have the most influence in the technological advancement which is believed to be the basis of modern human civilization. If it is not a wood then there will be a chance that a materials scientist and engineer will get involved in the manipulation and advancement of that material in order to improve human life. In addition, we know that, from the early civilization, the glorious of a nation depends on the advancement of the materials development. Thus, a materials scientist and engineer will always get involved in discovering new techniques in the manipulation and advancement of materials. 

One of the ways a materials scientist and engineer gets involved in the materials development is by using sophisticated techniques and tools, namely microscopy by using SEM/TEM/EDS, AFM/SPM; diffraction by using neutron and or X-Ray diffractometer; and so on. And, with the basis of sciences developed in other areas such as physics and chemistry, a materials scientist and engineer goes hand in hand in finding a new way to improve human life and so to preserve our existence in this temporary world.

As a scientist and engineer working in this area, my field of interests are:

  • ODS Alloys
  • Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys
  • High Temperature Materials
  • Electronic ceramics
  • Metals used for food technology
  • Nanotechnology/Nanomaterials
